In-Home tuning & service

Mark Bushell servicing a grand piano inside a home

Tuning

On average, we recommend tuning your piano twice a year.  Some players may find that more frequent tuning is desired to keep the piano sounding its best and others may feel that once a year suits them just fine.  We highly recommend not waiting more than 1 year between tunings, for then your piano may become unstable needing a pitch adjustment in addition to a regular tuning.

Pitch Raise / Pitch Adjustment

If your piano hasn't been tuned in a long time, its likely that your piano is not only out of tune but out of pitch (stable range) .  In most cases, the piano is severely flat requiring a pitch raise which stretches the strings prior to a tuning.

Regulation

Everyone talks about tuning your piano but they rarely ever talk about regulation.  Regulation is an important step to help your piano function properly.  The piano's action is made up of thousands of parts that can fall out of adjustment creating problems such as keys that dip too far (or not enough) to notes that don't rebound or repeat properly.  If your piano needs regulation,  we can help you significantly improve your piano's performance, right in your home.

Voicing

Do you wish your piano sounded warmer or do you prefer a brighter tone?  The piano's character can be adjusted to suit your personal preference.

Piano Repair

Chipped keys, broken or missing action parts, notes that don't work, etc.  We do it all!

We can even manufacture parts that are no longer available!

Cabinet Repair

From  broken legs to broken music racks and more, many small cabinet repairs can be done  in your home.  If we require to make the repair in our shop, it usually just requires us borrowing a part for a short time and returning it during a second visit, not moving the whole piano.

Cleaning, Tightening, & Lubrication

Do you dust the outside of your piano?  Yes?  Occasionally, its a good idea to have us clean out the inside, too.   We will open your piano up (likely to parts you've never seen before) and vacuum out the inside.  We will tighten tighten all the action screws and lubricate the moving action parts.  It's like a car detailing but for you piano!

Service Evaluation

We offer complete service evaluations in your home and will provide a written estimate for service.  If you choose to perform any of the work, 100% of your service evaluation fee will be applied towards your service, in effect making your evaluation free.
